# Start Here

New to TTMT, or just new to this layout? This page is the five-minute tour. It shows the four places you'll use most, what lives in each, and the quick paths that get you there in one click. Nothing here changes a setting; it's a map.

## The four places

| Place | What it's for | Read more |

## Channels

The **Channels** page shows one card per channel. Each card has a status line per account: a dot and a word (**Running**, **Paused**, **Halted**, **Paused by plan**), the account, and the preset it uses, or **Account settings**. With more than one account, the **account slider** at the top chooses which account the figures are for.

Two things happen right on the card, for the account in the slider:

* **Pause on {account}…** and **Resume on {account}.** Pause asks you to confirm first. The dialog says what stops (new trades from this channel on that account), what keeps running (breakeven, trailing stop, TP redistribution and daily limits on open trades; pending orders stay open), and that nothing is closed or cancelled.
* **The preset picker.** Click the preset in the status line, choose another preset or **Use account settings**, and it saves straight away with **Undo** in the toast.

**Add channel** opens a menu with **Ready to enable** (channels TTMT carries that you already follow on Telegram) and **Request a new channel**. See [Subscribing to Channels](/getting-started/subscribing-channels).

## A channel's page

Click **Open** on a card. At the top, a table lists your accounts with each one's **Status** and **Preset**, and buttons to **Pause…**, **Resume** or **Add…** per account. Below it are four tabs:

* **Setup** — how trades open (execution mode, default symbol), the preset per account, fallback stop loss and take profits, which signals are taken (symbols, skipped words, forum topics, trading hours), and orders and position size. Edits here wait in a draft until you press **Save changes**.
* **Performance** — this channel's results on the chosen account.
* **Signals** — every message the channel posted and what TTMT did with it.
* **History** — what changed on this channel, and when.

## Settings

**Settings** has two tabs.

**Account defaults** is how every channel on an account trades unless it has a preset. Twelve sections sit in five groups: **Sizing** (Size per trade, Symbol exceptions), **Entries & exits** (Entries, Take profits, Stop loss, Signal checks), **Running trades** (Protect open trades, Channel updates), **Account safety** (Daily limits, Trading hours) and **Account tools** (Symbol mappings, Notifications). If you have several accounts, pick the one you're editing in the account select at the top.

**Presets** holds your named sets of changes for particular channels. A preset changes only what it sets; everything else comes from the account defaults. See [Presets](/presets/).

Edits wait in a draft. A save bar at the bottom lists each change with its own undo, plus **Discard** and **Save**, and the **Preview** panel shows a sample trade with your edits before you save.

## The header

* **The account picker** — **Trading accounts** lists every account, with a search box once you have many. Switching shows a toast, "Now showing …", with **Undo**.
* **The current-account card** — the account you're looking at, its balance and equity, and one switch: **Trading active** or **Trading paused**. The switch asks before it changes anything.
* **The channel picker** — **Channels on {account}**, with **Pause**, **Resume** or **Add here…** per channel and a ⚙ that opens the channel's Setup. **Pause all {n} channels here…** opens a dialog that names the account and the channels before anything stops.
* **Search** — opens ⌘K search (below).

## Quick paths

These save the most clicks once you know your way around:

| Find any setting or preset | Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) and type two letters or more; old setting names work too |
| See every setting at once | **One page** in the Settings header, with **Jump to a section** links |
| Change the settings people change most | The **Quick edit** card at the top of Settings, in the Sections layout on a desktop |
| Tidy up many presets | **Table** view in Settings → Presets, then **Select** for **Move to group**, **Duplicate**, **Delete…** or **Compare** |
| Give a preset to several channels at once | **Choose channels…** in the preset's header |
| See when a setting changed | **Last changed · History** on the section |
