# Settings on a Phone

On a phone, Settings is a list first and a page second. The desktop's side-by-side section list, Quick edit card and docked preview are replaced by screens that fit a thumb.

## The overview

Opening Settings shows the list of the same 12 sections in their five groups (see [Settings](/settings/)). Each row shows a one-line summary of its current value, or "n changed" when you have edits waiting, and an **Unsaved** mark on sections with draft changes. **Symbol mappings** shows **Needs attention** when a symbol needs a fix.

When the account is halted, a warning strip above the list reads, for example, "Halted until 23:00", and **Daily limits ›** takes you to that section.

The **Account defaults** and **Presets** tabs, the account slider and a search button are on the overview too. The search button opens a sheet titled **Search settings** that finds every setting, old names too.

### Editing in place

Sections whose top setting is a single value can be expanded right in the overview: tap the row and the setting appears under it. **All {Section} settings ›** below it opens the full section screen. Collapsing a row never discards what you typed.

## Section screens

Tapping a row opens that section on its own screen. The back arrow, labelled **Back to all settings**, returns to the list. A chip rail at the top, **Jump to a section**, moves between sections, and the chip of the section in view is marked. Rows are the same as on a desktop, and the **?** help on a row opens as a sheet. Tapping a row's label opens its help rather than focusing the control.

## Saving and the preview

The save bar is fixed to the bottom of the screen in two rows: the count of unsaved settings, which opens the list of changes with an undo on each line, then **Preview**, **Discard** and **Save**. On a very short screen, for example with large text, it shrinks to one row: the count and **Save**, with Preview and Discard inside the list. The bar hides while the keyboard is open for typing.

**Preview** opens the trade preview as a sheet. While you have unsaved edits it is titled **Unsaved changes**; when the draft is clean it is titled **Trade preview**. The sheet uses the draft, so it shows the effect of what you changed. Read [Explanations and the preview](/settings/explanations-and-preview) for **Preview as** and the sample signal, and [Saving and history](/settings/saving-and-history) for **Changed somewhere else**.

On a preset's page the same overview, section screens and save bar apply. See [Presets](/presets/).
