Frequently Asked Questions
General
Can I use any broker? Yes. TTMT works with any broker that supports MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. We do not restrict you to specific partner brokers. As long as your broker provides MT4/MT5 access, you can connect it to TTMT.
Do I need a VPS? No. TTMT is fully cloud-based. Your trading service runs on our servers 24/7. You do not need to keep your computer on, rent a VPS, or install any software. Everything operates through your web browser.
Is there a mobile app? TTMT is a Progressive Web App (PWA). You can add it to your phone's home screen from your browser for an app-like experience with quick access and a full-screen view. A native iOS/Android app is on our roadmap.
What happens if I lose internet? Nothing changes. TTMT runs on our cloud infrastructure, not your computer or phone. Automation continues even if your device is off, your internet drops, or you close your browser. You can check results later from any device.
Can I use multiple accounts? Yes. Depending on your subscription tier, you can connect multiple MetaTrader accounts -- for example, a Demo account for testing, a Live account for real trading, and one or more Prop Firm accounts. Each account operates independently with its own connection and settings.
Trading
How fast is execution? Typically 100ms to 500ms from the moment a signal arrives in Telegram to the moment orders are placed on your broker. This includes message detection, AI parsing, validation, volume calculation, and order placement.
Can I manually interfere with trades? Yes. You can close trades, move stop losses, or adjust take profits manually in your MT4/MT5 app at any time. TTMT detects these changes and updates the dashboard accordingly. If you move the SL/TP manually, TTMT respects your new levels.
Does it work with prop firms? Yes. Many users use TTMT for prop firm challenges (FTMO, MyForexFunds, The Funded Trader, etc.). Set conservative lot sizes and use the volume caps to ensure you do not violate drawdown rules. You can connect your prop firm account as a separate MetaTrader account and configure it independently.
What is the minimum deposit recommended? This depends on your broker and the instruments you trade. We generally recommend a minimum of $200 for micro lot trading (0.01 lots). Smaller balances may result in INVALID_VOLUME errors because the calculated sub-order volume falls below the broker's minimum lot size.
How does the 12-order system work? Every trade signal is split into 4 layers, each containing 3 sub-orders, for a total of 12 orders. Layer 1 executes immediately at market price (30% of volume). Layers 2-4 place limit orders at progressively deeper prices within the entry zone, catching retracements. Each sub-order is assigned to a specific take profit level based on your TP Strategy. For full details, see Order Execution.
Can I disable TP redistribution? Yes. Go to Settings > Strategy and toggle off "TP Redistribution". When disabled, orders keep their original TP assignments regardless of which layers fill. When enabled, TTMT dynamically adjusts TP targets as deeper layers fill, compressing risk to secure profit earlier.
Can I use a different entry strategy? Yes. Under Settings > Trading > Entry Configuration, you can choose from four entry strategies:
- Market Only: Only Layer 1 (immediate execution, 30% volume).
- Layered (default): All 4 layers with the full 12-order strategy.
- Zone Entry: Uses the signal's entry zone for layer spacing.
- Limit Only: Layers 2-4 only (no immediate market execution).
What is a "runner"? A runner is the last sub-order in a trade that has its take profit removed (set to open). Instead of closing at a specific TP level, it "runs" with the trend as far as price goes. You can enable runner mode in Settings > Trading > Take Profit. Runners are protected by your trailing stop or breakeven settings.
Signals
Is my Telegram account safe? Yes. TTMT uses the official Telegram API. We only listen to the specific channels you add to your watchlist. We do not read your private chats, group messages, or any content outside your configured channels. Your session is encrypted and isolated per user.
What types of signals does TTMT support? TTMT supports complete signals (with entry, SL, and TP), alert signals (direction + symbol only), modification signals (SL/TP updates, partial close, full close), and follow-up signals. The execution mode setting controls how alert signals are handled.
Can TTMT parse any signal format? TTMT uses AI-powered parsing (GPT) that handles a wide variety of signal formats across multiple languages. For channels with unusual formatting, custom parsing prompts can be configured for higher accuracy. Use the Signal Tester to verify how a channel's signals are parsed before going live.
How does duplicate detection work? TTMT creates a unique identifier from each signal's key fields (symbol, direction, entry, SL, TPs). If an identical signal has already been processed, the duplicate is automatically skipped. This prevents double execution when channels forward or repeat signals.
Account and Billing
How do I cancel my subscription? Go to Settings > Billing > Open Customer Portal > Cancel Plan. One click, no hoops. You keep access until the end of your billing cycle. See Billing Management for details.
What happens to my data if I cancel? Your data (trade history, signal logs, settings) is preserved in a read-only state. If you resubscribe later, everything is still there.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing? Yes. Switching from monthly to yearly is treated as a plan change. Stripe prorates the remaining days and applies a credit toward the yearly price. You save approximately 17% on yearly billing.
Technical
What is a Magic Number? A unique identifier TTMT assigns to every trade it places. This allows TTMT to distinguish its automated trades from any manual trades you place on the same account. Manual trades are not affected by TTMT's automation.
What does "sync" mean on the dashboard? Sync refers to the process of aligning TTMT's records with your broker's actual positions. TTMT maintains a real-time live connection to your broker. If the dashboard shows a sync warning, it means there may be a brief delay in data freshness, but trade execution is not affected.
What are Config Profiles? Config Profiles let you create reusable sets of trading settings and assign them to specific channels. This way, you can have aggressive settings for one channel and conservative settings for another, without changing your account defaults. See Config Profiles for details.
