Account-Management Warning
Some signal channels do more than post signals. They also offer to "manage" followers' accounts: you hand over your MT4/MT5 login, or send them money, and they trade it for a share of the profits or a fee. TTMT marks channels that have made that offer with an Account-management risk chip, so you see it before you connect the channel and again if you already follow it.
The warning is about that one offer. It says nothing about the quality of the channel's signals, and it does not stop TTMT from copying them.
What the chip means
When a channel carries the chip, you see the chip on its card and a short warning wherever its details are shown: in the Channel Hub, in the Channel Library, and in Explore. The full warning reads:
This channel has offered to manage followers' trading accounts: trading your MT4/MT5 account for you, or trading money you hand over to them, for a share of the profits or a fee. Handing over your account or your money this way is one of the most common forex scams, and at best an extreme risk. Regulators including the FCA and the CFTC warn against it.
You can still copy this channel's signals through TTMT. Never give anyone your trading password, and never send money for "account management". TTMT will never ask for your password in a Telegram message, DM or email.
The warning appears in one of two wordings, depending on how it was added:
| How the warning was added | Wording |
|---|---|
| A TTMT admin reviewed the evidence (a quoted message from the channel, or reports) | "This channel has offered…" |
| Three paid subscribers reported it (see Reporting a channel) | "Subscribers have reported that this channel offered…" |
When a warning was added from reports, the first paragraph reads instead:
Subscribers have reported that this channel offered to manage followers' trading accounts: trading your MT4/MT5 account for you, or trading money you hand over to them, for a share of the profits or a fee. Handing over your account or your money this way is one of the most common forex scams, and at best an extreme risk. Regulators including the FCA and the CFTC warn against it.
Each warning links to an article that explains why these offers are dangerous, and to support if you think it is wrong.
What the chip does not mean
- The signals still work. TTMT keeps reading and copying the channel's signals exactly as before. The warning never pauses, removes or reassigns a channel you already follow.
- It is not a verdict on the channel's trading. It records an offer to take over accounts or money, nothing more. Being asked to open an account with the channel's broker is not, on its own, what the warning is about.
- It is separate from other badges. It does not change a channel's listing, its verification, or its performance stats.
The one rule that protects you
Never give anyone your MT4/MT5 password, and never send money to anyone to trade it for you. You connect your trading account to TTMT only on your own dashboard; TTMT will never ask for your password in a Telegram message, a DM or an email.
Enabling a flagged channel
You can still enable a flagged channel. Before TTMT adds it, a dialog titled Before you enable channel name shows the full warning and one checkbox:
I understand this warning. I won't share my trading login or send money to anyone to manage my account.
Tick it and click Enable channel. TTMT records that you saw this warning for this channel, so you are asked once per warning. If a warning is removed and later added again, you are asked again.
The same check applies wherever you add a channel: enabling it from the Channel Hub or Explore, following it during onboarding, and publishing a channel you analysed yourself.
If you already follow a channel when it is flagged
When a warning is added to a channel, TTMT tells the people who follow it, once:
- On your dashboard: a banner names the channel, repeats the short warning, and links to the explanation. Dismiss it when you have read it.
- In Telegram: if you have connected the notification bot, you get one message about it. This message is sent even if you have switched individual notification types off, because it is a safety notice, not a trade alert. You receive it once per channel per warning.
- By email: one email about it, if you receive TTMT emails.
You are notified if the channel is enabled in your TTMT account, or if TTMT saw you as a member of the channel on Telegram within the last 30 days. Nothing about your setup changes: the channel keeps running.
Reporting a channel
If a channel offers to manage your account, you can report it from the channel.
Who can report. You can report a channel when both of these are true:
- You have an active paid subscription (or a lifetime deal). Trials do not count.
- You are a current member of the channel: it is enabled in your TTMT account, or TTMT confirmed your membership on Telegram within the last 7 days.
If you cannot report, the report option is shown disabled with the reason.
What to send. Describe the offer, and paste the message if you can (up to 2,000 characters). You can attach one screenshot (an image up to 5 MB). What counts: being asked for your MT4/MT5 login, or offered to have your money traded for a profit split or a fee. Being asked to open an account with their broker is not, on its own, what we mean.
How reports turn into a warning. When three different qualifying subscribers report the same channel within 30 days, the warning goes live automatically, with the "Subscribers have reported…" wording. A TTMT admin reviews every report either way.
Limits. You can have one report on record per channel; after a warning on that channel is removed, you can report it again. You can send up to five reports a day across all channels.
Your identity stays private. Your name, email and account are never shown publicly or to the channel. Admins see a reference code, not your email. If you delete your TTMT account, your reports are kept as evidence with your identity removed.
If you think a warning is wrong
Contact support at [email protected] with the channel name and why you think the warning is wrong. A TTMT admin can remove a warning; the evidence and the reason for removal stay on record. After a removal, reports that were made before it do not count again: the warning comes back only if three new reports qualify, or an admin adds it.
